This may sound stupid but I've looked all over, and I can't find it. How do I paint fill?

Foreground Colour Fill - Alt+Backspace
Background Colour Fill - Ctrl+Backspace

It shares a button with gradient too. It may be hidden under it and that's maybe why you didn't see it.
