Help With 3d logos

i've found this logo site that i like, just wondering if anyone knows were they made in illustrator..

for instance i know how to do this one in illustrator

can anyone suggest tutorials. or were they made in a 3d program or photoshop. i ready want to be able to make them in verctor.

I dont do Illustrator, but I can show you the technique of that second link using Photoshop (should work in Illustrator too).
