New here, my work?

Postby Gevalia on Tue Jan 23, 2007 7:04 pm

Greetings everyone ;), im rather new on the forums, and watched some of you guys works. Some of you are brilliant, and others are newbies ( like me ) ^^. But the good thing about being a newbie, is that u can always go on here, and find inspiration and tutorials on how 2 do stuff, thats looks amazingly better than what u could come up by yourself. My latest work is done through tutorials on this site, brushes, and a bit of free mind, and one that was partly drawn by hand ( USB drawboard thing ). Anyway, here goes ^^

The one with the wolf ( i dunno if it actually looks like a wolf, im still getting used to my drawboard :P ), is an idea for an album cover, and is not fully done yet, any ideas and comments are more than welcome.

Hey! ..
That second one brings up memories :)
Now, some critique (as they say in french!) to help you.
First picture: Your texture behind the drawing is barely visible AND I WANT TO SEE IT!.. Either remove it or make it visible! Curiosity is a nasty thing, avoid it. "Freedom is a cage".. Wow.. Your like dictators? xD
Did you draw that with the mouse?... nice..
but I reccomend doing it in hand and then scan it.. you will find it easier, trust me ;)
I see you followed the tutorial very well on that second one, thumbs up! :)
Good luck in the future :D

haha, thanks... Ye i did follow the tutorial, did it a few times to get different results becouse of the gradient variation... I'll try and remove some of the darkness behind the drawing ( i added in the first place to brighten up the drawing, as it was hard to see all the lines ), and i didn't draw it with my mouse. I got some sort of draw board. Its a USB plugin, with a pad and a pen, to draw directy into softwares, and it changes brushes in photoshop so it starts of thin and then changes, depending on how hard you press the pen ;)

Oh, sorry.. I read wrong, my bad.
can't give you any tips, sorry Gevalia :P
well... You could try and merge the two images.. I think it would suit as a very nice background.. Looking a bit like a cage :)
