URGENT!! !! Need to create a four-page newsletter

Postby alexyhan on Mon Mar 19, 2007 9:20 pm

Hi,

Im fairly new at using Illustrator, although I use Photoshop quite a bit and used to use PageMaker. I dont have InDesign.

I have to put together four regular pages for tomorrow evening, out of one piece of paper. So it would be a paper that is folded together, just once, to create four single pages. Its like a newsletter.

I have searched the Help section of Illustrator for instructions on how to do this, but there doesnt seem to be any information.

I realize this is probably fairly simple thing to do. I heard something about inside right, inside left, front and page, and I saw an example which I cant paste on here, but Im still unclear on how best to create the folded newsletter.

Anyone has the patience to give me the necessary instructions Q That would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Alexy Han

Not sure if this is what you mean, but....

You'll have to make two separate illustrator documents. Make them 8.5x11 landscape. Place a guide directly in the middle of the page, which would be at 4.25". Designate one of the documents to have the front and back page - the left side of the document will be the back of your newsletter, the right side will be the front page of your newsletter. The other document will be your inside pages, the left will be the inside left and the right will be the inside right. When you are finished, print out the front & back document, reload the same page back in the printer the other way, and print the inside pages document.
