I am opening a new box 50cm x 50cm, click on the "T" text tool, font set at 6pt, click on the page and the text cursor is actually 41cm tall, the cursor can not be reduced in height.
I have made a box by clicking & draging as you suggested, text is not visible in the box, even when at 12 0r 6pt.
When I type the cursor moves ever so slightly to the left.
Beats me, appreciate your input.

Wait, the cursor is moving to the LEFT?? Can you post a screen shot of what you are seeing? That might make it easier to narrow down. :)

Edit: The only reference to anything like this is the following. TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK. Even though i dont think it would mess anything up it definately could. Also: it will probably erase any custom settings you have. :)

I solved my problem with text not appearing, but I don't really understand the root problem.
In the palette with the "history" and "action" tabs, I selected the Actions tab. I opened the "default actions" folder, and scrolled down to an entry named "working with Type workspaces".
I clikced on that, and one item was under it: "Select Workspace wotking with type". I clicked on that. An alert box popped up: "The selected workspace will modify menu and/or keyboard shortcuts. Would you like to apply this workspace?"
I said OK (Why not?) and now I can see the text I typed.

Let us know if that works, or post up a screenshot and we will take it from there. 8)

Sorry I should have said to the right.
I will see if I have the software to get a screen shot.
Looked under my actions tab and there is nothing there, just a blank space, pitty I was getting hopeful.
OK I have got a screen shot now how do I get it posted here?

Hmmm.....
You should have the default actions in your actions menu, looks like this:
http://www.tombothetominator.bravehost.com/Actions.JPG And within that default actions folder should be the one i was talking about.

You could also try going to the 'window - workspace' menu and select 'working with type' workspace. It will ask you if you are sure, and then hit yes. This should get you the same thing as going through the actions tab.

As far as taking screen shots all you should have to do is hit the 'Print Screen' button on your keyboard, and then create a new file in photoshop and hit paste. :)

Let me know.[/url]

Yes that is the folder I went to, both actions & history are empty no folders in them at all.
Print screen has never worked on my board, have no idea why, I thought it was one of those keys that only worked with some programmes.
If you could email me I can send it to you that way.

Problem Solved

Postby tombothetominator on Tue Apr 03, 2007 6:04 pm

Okay, problem solved. Had him reset his preferences file (CTRL+ALT+Shift while opening photoshop) and all was well.

For those interested the reason he didn't have the default actions / workspaces is because he is using PS 7.0 (i thought he had CS for some reason).

Thank you Tom for all your help.
It is people like you that restore my faith in man kind, without your efforts this programme was useless and of no value to me.
