As far as what i did:
I did a levels adjustment and upped the saturation of the original (my basis for any photo i take, just to correct the gray i end up getting from any camera i touch).
From here I created a new lineart version of the flowers (via smartblur - edge only, poster edge, cutout). I then removed all white from this layer leaving only the lines themselves, and reduced the opacity down to ~50%.
Then i took a merged version of this image (CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+E) and applied a conte crayon filter, with sandstone texture. I then added a secondary texture of canvas to it. On top of this i put another copy of the merged version and set it to overlay (this colors the black/white conte layer).
Finally a basic hue/saturation and brightness/contrast adjustment to get the lighting back to where i wanted it.
