add anchor point tool

+ - pen tools how do these work exactly, ha. my only problem is connecting lines. lets say I have a vertical line with two anchor points, how do I connect a new line from the middle of the first line? and have it actually connected with a new anchor point. understand? like a T but a very tired one.

and does anyone have any avant g. alternates?

You cannot create a line with multiple paths. A line can only be that, a line - with one start point, one end point, and multiple anchor points in the middle. The best you can do is use smart guides to draw a line that starts from the point you want on the other line. So you will have two seperate lines. You can always group them together if that helps, but together they can not be one line.
