Where can I find the cheapest .com domains on the internet? I have heard that enom.com is pretty cheap, but you have to put $100 into their account, is that correct? Where can I buy the cheapest .com domain on the internet, and I just want to buy one, and just the domain name?

Well for people in sweden there is a very cheap domain. You pay them monthly about 12 swedish krona/month (minimum) and the fees to register you. Once you paid the sums, its time to rock and roll.

12 swedish krona per month will be 144 kronas / year, which is about $19 / year. Thats not very cheap.

$9.75 on http://www.975register.com

I just came across a site that offers a domain for $5.99/year on http://order.1and1.com/xml/order/

Note: The period of getting a .us domain for $2.99 is over :(

Surftowns domains aren't actually cheap, 149 kronas / year. Which is about 15 euros I think.

But the hosting is rather cheap. Some setup fees and 12 kronas a month. You basically just pay for the domain.

But hey, to pay $5 more each year isn't much. Just don't buy your next load of coke :P

www.godaddy.com

Not the cheapest but I've tried cheaper registrars and my DNS information was all of the time being deleted, VERY slow service and crappy customer support.
So, I'd stick with Godaddy.com. You get what you pay for.

If you buy it before Jan 1, Yahoo is selling domains for $4.98 / 2 years.

By selling you mean leasing right? I don't think they actually fully sell over the rights to a domain registry anymore, only leasing or renting.

Anyway, yahoo is now a little under $10/year for the domain by itself, and a little under $12/month with $25 startup fee for the hosting of 2gb storage space and a lot of bandwidth, domain registry included in the package.

I do wish I could actually BUY the domains though, instead of leasing.
