--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have 5 photographs of cars (with backgrounds).

I want to remove all the backgrounds and put all the images together as one image and then perhaps put some text in the middle.
(images to be layered half over the other image).

How can I do this? I assume it’s a case of removing the backgrounds somehow and then creating layers of each image?

can someone tell me how to cut the image from the background and then create layers.

thanks

I use the magic wand tool.

Select the entire background, then right click inside your selection and click on "select inverse".

Now your car will be selected.

At the very upper right corner of your toolbar is the little arrow with the crosshair looking thing beside it. Take that, Ctrl+Click on your car (while it is still selected by the little "marching ants") and drag it onto the other image.

If you wanna practice, just make a big black circle on white background and try the same technuiqe if you're confused.

It would probably be better to use the pen tool for removing background. That way you get alot smoother cut.

the pen tool- is that free hand? so it depends on how accurate you are?
