Eye like it.

Postby Medley on Wed May 16, 2007 6:41 am

One of my better paintings, I think. I find it mildly disturbing, but the fact that it makes me feel anything means I consider it a success. Comments?

It's very good, but there's something about that red.I don't know what it is about it that kinda bugs me(not that i don't like red)
It's still very good though :) i like the eye itself,it has like a glaze or something. GJ :)

Done by hand. The reference material was a magnifying mirror. Switching from the mirror to the computer monitor definately messed with my visual accuity though.

@ ElectrifieD: The red is a product of trying to get the light, shadow, and shading correct- the main reason for this piece. I chose the eye as my subject because I knew that getting the reflections from the pupil and iris right would be a challenge. The light source was a desk lamp off to the side of the computer monitor and mirror.

@rk: The fact that you saw this as a photo is a compliment of the highest order. Thank you.
