image dpi in java?

image dpi in java?

Postby fipi on Sun Jun 17, 2007 4:27 pm

Is there any way to attach a dpi property to images in java? I know (or at least I've heard) that the resolution of a print job can be changed, but what I'm trying to do is change the dpi value in an image itself.
I made a program that creates and saves images with dimensions of 1425 by 2175 pixels. I made it that way so that when the images are printed at 600 dpi, they will come out in the small size i want them. But instead of having to print the images from within the program, I want to save the images with a higher resolution than the default and then print them outside the program. Is there any way to do this?
