the first is too grainy...

the second isn't bad..

the third's planet is over shaded...

yeah i dont know how or why the first picture became so grainy.

u either have and pattern mask or an pixelated halftone mask...

all i did was do color balance with the background and then import a .targa i think it was 3d model that i had made with alpha channel then do overlay or multiply or one of those blending modes. i think it was just the backgrounds already somewhat pixelatedness became more exaggerated with the color balance and then the addition of another picture.

yeah, the first one its kinda grainy, usually if you use that sort of grain you'd mix it with a kind of black and white picture to give it a sort of old time kind of look, well, thats what I usually do with grain. =D

yeah. the background was an old sheet of paper or something so i think thats where the problem comes from.
