Photoshop 7.0 compatible with Mac OS Leopard?

Postby sojo on Fri Nov 23, 2007 9:55 pm

Hi, is the above possible?
Ive just had Mac OS Leopard installed onto my computer and am unable to run my photoshop 7.0. I received a message informing me my Mac cant find "classic" which I understand but would have thought photoshop 7 wasnt reliant on classic.

any help would be greatful

regards

I was looking around and people are saying that 7 is not compatible with Leopard. If you are interested in the workaround, add me to aim. violence0n is my screen name.

AOL Instant Messenger. Do you have any other sort of IM client where it would be easier to communicate?

Same Problem

I'm having the same problem with 7.0. Upgrading my software just because I upgraded my OS is lame. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard:
Software Incompatibilities

Introduction

The programs listed below have compatibility problems with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, ranging from minor incompatibilities that do not affect core functions to major problems that prevent use. This list is compiled from developer statements, and where possible, we've included links to the official statements, information on expected updates, and other notes.

Adobe

Adobe has released a compatibility list in the form of a PDF file [leopardsupport.pdf] and says that most components of Creative Suite 3 are compatible with the exceptions below.

Acrobat 8 Professional
Compatibility update scheduled for January 2008.

Pro video applications, including Premiere Pro CS3, After Effects CS3 Professional, Encore CS3, and Soundbooth CS3
Compatibility updates scheduled for December 2007.

Photoshop Elements 4 and earlier
"Likely to encounter issues for which there is no resolution."

Creative Suite 2 and earlier
"While older Adobe applications may install and run on Mac OS X Leopard, they were designed, tested, and released to the public several years before this new operating system became available. You may, therefore, experience a variety of installation, stability, and reliability issues for which there is no resolution. Older versions of our creative software will not be updated to support Mac OS X Leopard."

Photoshop Lightroom
Adobe has now released Lightroom 1.3 for Leopard compatibility. Versions 1.2 and earler are not compatible.

7.0 and Leopard

This refers to CS3. I'm curious about 7.0.

Read the part titled "Creative Suite 2 and earlier". Photoshop CS2 is part of the Creative Suite 2. Earlier refers to anything before that (photoshop 7, 6, etc.).

So, in a nutshell, Adobe is aware of problems with previous versions of PS, but has no plans to fix them. Upgrade, or find a hack. If you have problems with the hack, well then you get what you pay for.
