Printing a file for a customer through a Roland SP-300V. The file is coming from Illustrator as an EPS. When it prints, a large black area of the file is putting down much more black then usual - causing problems with the ink not drying etc. The black area in Illustrator is expandable - and doesn't display as a real colour. Is this some effect in Illustrator, and how would I go about removing it?
Not sure exactly, here... but it sounds like you may be using a black that uses CMY&K (a true black). Try making your black C=0 M=0 Y=0 K=100, then you won't have so much ink being layed down on the print.
