i am currently trying my hand at clothing making in Second life ,.an online game if none of u are famillair with it ,. and my question is how to save the file of my pattern with transparencies without them saving with a white background .i am very frustrated with my progress and any help would be very appreciated.
Save them as .png you can also use gif if you are just using solid colours and not to many of them but I recomend .png because it will kep all of your quality.
seems anything i do to save the texture ,. the back ground is always white ,.. any other suggestions ?changing the file name doesnt seem to help,.. its something in photoshop im doing wrong
ok,. let me add a bit more info to my thread,. when i merge my layers i still have the transparent background ,. but when i flatten the layers ,. the white background comes back,. please help,.im soo frustrated,..lol,.
arrrgggg,. when i flatten the image ,. it turns the transparencies to white ,. even after creating a new file, and clicking on the transparent option, it doesnt create the transparent background ,it automaticlly creates a layer ,instead of a background
The color of the background does not matter if you are creating a texture for a game. The game will pull colors from the parts of the image it needs to - if you don't want white in that part of the image than you need to change that manually.
If you are looking to make that area of the texture transparent on the model I would first check to make sure the chosen model type and engine running it support that type of texture rendering.

it doesnt seem to matter which file i use to save ,.i cant get the transparencies to show through when i save the file ,. even if i dont flatten the image
