I think you should add some shadows to the ring, and fix the text, maybe you can use the innershadow blendingoption to make it engraved.

Take a closer look at the ring. I'm not really sure, but it looks like as if it was never planned to look like a ring. Besides that. the text does seem wrong for the image. In my humble opinion it should have been curved along the side of the 'ring' itself.

The original ring was looking more realistic, but i just wanted to experiment and i got it. The text isn't set up for the ring, cause i put it just to see how it would look.
About the wallpaper, Phate yes i used the same tutorial, but i didn't have the same color effect. How did you make it?

I dont really remember... that was one of the first designs that I made... I just remeber using a tutorial

it's really easy to make some thing like this all you did was read a tut and then just change mood to color burn
