Hey anyone know how to make those things like when you roll over something it brings up an add or definition of a word in a little speech bubble kind of thing? I don't know what they're called if you don't know what I'm talking about i'll try t find a page that has them.

I know what you mean. I guess it would have to be done in javascript, i have never done it myself. If you just want to put text tho they're is an easy way to do it:
Code: Select all
<abbr title="Description">Text</abbr>
or
<acronym title="Description">Text</acronym>

A pretty rubbish solution i know, ill have a look into doing it with pictures and speech boxes.

They are called 'tooltips' and as Flabby Rabbit hinted, if you want to have more sophisticated tooltips (e.g. if the title attribute does not meet your requirements) you need to add javascript.

Here is a link where you can download a free and powerful javascript-module for creating tooltips:
http://www.walterzorn.com/tooltip/tooltip_e.htm

Featuring: fade-in/fade-out, HTML (e.g. images), delay time and transparency.

cheers!

Yeah, if you set the STICKY attribute to "1" and ommit the DURATION.
