Visual Basic 2008 Express: May be a huge limitation...

Postby brettman9 on Mon Feb 18, 2008 9:00 pm

I just started with VB 08 exp...

But I got it for the primary purpose of interfacing with Excel spreadsheet data driven off our bloomberg DDE, and I don't see any signs that this version can even talk to excel at all, much less, better than the old VB that came with excel. I can't find any concrete answer in the help files, and the forums on MSFT are not very active for this product.

Should I just abort now, and find some other version to dive into? Or am I wrong about this limitation?

Would really appreciate any hints here...I don't mind switching up and paying for fewer limitations, but I'd rather do it sooner than later.

Thanks,
Brett

Nope, I was wrong...it's fine. Just a bit difficult for someone not used to the route you have to take to recognize the facility.
