Image map problems...please help?

Image map problems...please help?

Postby Go-Angel on Sun Feb 03, 2008 10:23 am

Hey there guys. This isn't a really an Javascript question...or maybe it is? I don't know what catergory I should put it in. Anyways...

I have an image map and I want the areas of the map to be lighted up when rolled over. However, the areas aren't retangular and some of them overlap. I am wondering how I could go about doing this without using flash? Basically, I want to have a secondary maps with areas highlighted, and a script of some sort that lets me highlight/change only parts of the image on rollover.

I'm not too good at explaining, so here is a visual example of what I want done.

As you can see some of the ideas overlap each over and aren't easily sliceable. Any ideas?

You could probably use layers with the same pic on each layer, when the name of the area is rolled over it could show that area with the highlight. So you would need lots of pictures with different parts highlighted.
