I Love Rally Too ^^

Postby Impulsive on Thu Feb 28, 2008 5:54 pm

After making this Creation: http://www.devppl.com/forum/i-love-tuning-d-vt9489.html I'd like to try something with a SUBARU WRC.
The idea came in to me create an artificial night. So after filtering the image, I added some Light points. Already 90% was done by that.
I finished with some details like the Subaru and WRC logo, wich are paths created from other images.
I added a filter (spekle) to simulate a night-like image. After all I used some Lens Flares to make the headlights come out as I like.

This is the original Image: (a Google result (Deuuh) )

And this is my creation... (Addicted to lens-flares ^^ )

Thats good. I was wondering if the moon wouldn't light up some of the background, but I guess the headlights would be blinding and anyways it could be clouded. There's somekind of a ripple on the right headlight.
The lights from the right headlight looks very real though.
I think the lens flares gives it a computer game look to it. Dunno why.
Oh yeah, dashboard lights would've been really cool!
Good job :)

Yeh add some clouds over the head lights so it looks like a bit of dust! But not to much....play around with the opacity for it (Not like you wouldnt know :D) Very nice though!

Thanks for the comments ^^..

But I don't know what Exc. means with the ripple?

Some other guy (not on this forum) gave me the comment that the light beam on the right headlight (the left one on the image) is a bit to much downward.
An unfortunately I have to agry with him :s: It is.

About the dashboard light: I just din't think about that.
I already merged lots of my layers, so it wil be a hard job to improve it. But I will try to work upon your comments.

I just thought the light seemed a rippled or smudged in some how.. Might just be me though.

I reworked it towards the idea of a cockpit light.

Because the original image (wich is a daylight image) contains to much reflections in the windshield, i needed to search a more tipical cockpit view... And I found a great one ^^

I took that piece out of it, cutted the edges en warped it into the right format.
Afterwards I used masks to create the right effect.
Some adjustures of the light inside the cockpit did verry wel.

I also take care of the angle of the left side beam and made the sky overall dark.

I finished adding windshield wipers and a cloud of dust that scooped over the car. I'm satisfied with the result (original res: 1024 - 768)

<< Beside: that aint a WRC car: it is drivin automatic (pilots hands never leave steering wheel).. WRC cars have the specification to have a manual transmision... Correct me if I'm wrong about that >>

I'm sorry impulsive but it is a real wrc car I think, in such a car the hands never realy leave the steeringe wheel but just look at the fingers of the driver, all wrc cars (or all most all of them) have shift hendels on the steering wheel.
