Forum Rules

Postby rangana on Mon Apr 07, 2008 8:13 am

Hi there Webmaster,

Good Day!

I just wanted to ask as to where can I review the forum rules?..the guidelines and the proper way of posting?..:)

...Also, why do you allow the members to post having vague subject :roll:

I just thought that the Search would be useless if some members are having title of Hi, I need help, Help, urgent..and a lot of subject which has nothing to do with the real problem.

Do we have set of rules written already?..Coz, if i'll read a member not following the rules, then i'll link them to the rules.

...Just a suggestion..Anyway, have a nice day ahead ;)

There are no way of stopping people from using subjects like that. The new version of the forum will have a few filters that hopefully will make less of topics like that.

But it's the newcomers who posts like that, and they are not reading the news anyways.

We have no rules, if people don't behave, they get banned, that's pretty much it. If people spam, we remove their posts. That's pretty much it, but we will add rules, some day... :)

Awkie, fine with the reply...I was just clarifying things out, Yes, most of the members who post vague subjects are the new comers, but then I thought with the rules (which I thought is listed), then I would help them have a starting point.

...Anyways, I had been hearing about that forum update...I'll be looking forward for it.

Thanks for taking time answering this thread :)

..Also, why did you removed the resolved feature?!..I mean yes I read the thread in this section about that resolved feature,,,and well, that will be helpful (just a thought). ;)

@rangana:
It was a good feature, but it had a few bugs so it was removed, it will definately be back though, it's a good thing to have.

@Tomi:
I started working on it for maybe 8-9 months ago, but then so many other things came up, so I haven't been able to work with it for months now. But I'm adding new features to my to-do-list all the time, and I belive I should have it done before 2009, but I have to much to do, so I can't promise anything... more than that it will be awesome :)

I will continue to be a mystery :)

I remove like one thread/post per week, and I don't think any rules with lower that number. We could have some rules about how to write topics and so, but I don't think it will help. It's only newcomers that post with shitty topic names, and they don't read the rules anyways.

Webmaster could you like make a thread somewhere with updates and stuff on the new version and to let people post ideas because a lot of the topics here are about the new version well people asking about it (me :P) and it would be good to have an official place so people don't talk crap in completely unrelated threads.

Nahh, I would like to keep that secret until I push out a beta, but it's many months until then, so keep your suggestions and we'll take it then.
