Owkay... It's a bit late here.. but I promised Inksarat I will post my new Idea this night... (Local time: 3:50 AM)

So here I go...

I've been to other Forums, and I came back here, because I all missed you, and because the other forums couldn't provide me this personal, warm, feeling... BUT i didn't came back here with empty hands... As I like to speak of my new idea (witch is totally NOT my invention, but just something I participated at another Forum) I want you to know Inksarat supports me and thought about it to... She will lead my way too ^^...

Enough talking, The Idea:

A Worm...

For those who know, It's me that believes DEVPPL is ready for it...

For those who don't know, This example will clear the subject 'worm' out for you in just a split second: Official BlueSfear Worm

This is an extremely good example of a worm...
Honestly: my aims at DEVPPL aren't so high as this one. But, you could still surprise me...

The explanation : (based on short rules)
---------------------------------------------------

- A worm is an artwork, delivered by Multiple artists, working as a TEAM.

- The output of a worm project, should be a COHERENT and CREATIVE assembly of MULTIPLE styles. Blending between the artworks is the primary concern of a worm.

- Every new artwork is supposed to blend perfectly at the RIGHT side of the previous artwork. (So the worm goes from left, to right)

- The resolution of every single piece should be the same for every art work and It's going to be 800 x 600 Pixels...

- The sequence of the artists should be commonly negotiable...

- There should be an overlap distance on the left side of each artwork (except on the first one) that enshures a perfect blend.. I was thinking about 10 - 20 Px... (or none if the specified piece doesn't need an overlap)

- An artist that creates a piece of a worm, Is supposed to keep his mind on the apprentice that will have to blend HIS/HER artwork. Open up POSSIBILITIES... Create the space for a STYLESWITCH and don't stab him/her in the back with a difficult to blend image...

- To control the fact, the previous rule is taken into action, there should be NO EXCHANGE of stock or PSD's... This means, that it's not tollerated an artists askes the previous to send image information...

That's about it... Could be I forgot something important .. ^^

I like to clear out that I don't want to have a LEADING function, (neigther do Inksarat) and that every single rule in the above should be negotiable so that every participant is familiar with the definition of a worm.

The result of the worm is (on my concern) more important than following strict rules... So it is common that an artist has to make-over his design (on demand of the other participants) to become the ultimate blending of two artworks...

If we don't get enough feedback/support Inksarat and me won't be motivated to drive this project ^^...

As you can see, the BlueSfear worm is a Hell of a piece, and it's not their first attempt... so forget busting them... We could just follow their lead, and have fun on our own ^^...

...

More information will follow...

Feel free to add comments, doubts, rules, irrelevant information ( ;) )...

I hope this could get another interesting project...

Our dear regards: Inksarat and Impulsive...

I think we could do it. The only thing is you say that every new piece of artwork should blend with the piece to the right, but the worm you posted as an example goes from left to right so ever new piece would blend with the one to the left.

Now if you sir are proposing that our worm go from right to left well that sir is simply to radical an idea for me to get behind. But a left to right worm would be fine.

LOL

I think it's a great idea - would have to have a proper read of what you're proposing, as I'm rushing a bit at the moment. I'd also vote for left to right because that's the direction that I (and other English speakers on this forum) tend to default to.

:)

:D?? Thanx for the replies...

And about the left/right thing:

I meant with: - Every new artwork is supposed to blend perfectly at the previous artwork at the RIGHT side of it.

The Rights side of the PREVIOUS artwork ^^...

Offcourse I agree with left to right ^^ (gonna edit my post, thanks for clearing out)

Impulsive.

Ooh Soso :?: .. It's quite depressing to see you posting such an empty post..
Where are the flashy colors?.. Your avatar ? Your sig?... :p

I'm working on the first piece of the worm (I call shotgun 8) )...
And I guess Inksarat wants to go second?...

I've got a few words to tell about filenames and how we gonna post all this,.. But I'll post this later...

I've finished the head of the worm.. ^^

Image

Since I don't use Photobucket, but ImageShack, I don't have control over the file-name my uploaded file gets... A bit pity...

EDIT: here's the link to it: http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/3020/1impulsivegl8.jpg

Cause it could come in handy, the filename consists:
- # of artwork
- Artist name
( - number of overlap pixels... Could be necessary to blend it properly)

Dear regards... Can't wait for the second piece...

Who will call Shotgun? Is it you Inksarat ?
