How to overwrite text with background color

Postby sw33t on Sat Jun 21, 2008 3:58 pm

Like say if there's a gray background with red text over it. If I want to get rid of that red text, I have to somehow use the exact background color to cover the text.

I know you can do it with paint, but the picture I need to do this on doesn't have a simple color. It's a really complicated color tone, so I need to copy that exact color over the text.

Thanks in advance.

You could use the clone stamp tool and try cloning the text out. Post your image and we can see exactly what needs doing and we can tell you better.

Ok, select it, (S) then alt/option+Click on a part of your picture similar to the bit your covering and paint over it, you might need to resample if there is alot to do.

That image is not as easy as it looks to clone as its a gradiant over a background if the background is not that important just remove it and re add the gradiant ya self like this you are also welcome to use the one i did if you wish

ya johnathan i got the exact same effect as you more like a small gradiant rather than a flowing one like the other side i dont like it wich is why i tryde it the way i did it but you did a good job and it gives the poster 2 options :)
