How to edit this image in Illustrator?

I am totally new to Illustrator.

Anyone can show me the direction on how to remove the brown area in this image using illustrator?

Unfortunately, you won't be able to edit this image with illustrator. It's a GIF, a raster image, and with illustrator you can only edit vector images. You can bring this into photoshop and remove the red with the magic wand, though.
