paths underneath text

paths underneath text

Postby mikeken763 on Wed Oct 22, 2008 11:40 pm

Ok, i tried searching the forums for this but could not find anything as it could have many many titles.

Anyways i am pretty novice to illustrator.

In an illustrator file I have some text that says mechanics hive. Above and all around that text I have polygon shape paths (hexagon to be specific.)
Those paths to the polygons are all black just as the text is. When the paths and the text overlap I would like the paths to show as a different color on top of the text. What the best and most efficient way to do this?

thanks, mike

adding to my post.. I guess is there a way to add an anchor point so that it will snap to the edge of another path such as text.. and I can then split the path that I am adding the anchor point to at that anchor point? lol I know that was confusing I do not know how else to word it though.
