Help with character design...

Postby Revision12 on Fri Nov 07, 2008 8:31 am

I'm working on a (non-profit) campaign with some friends.
The campaign relates to issues in poverty stricken countries and, in an effort to avoid be racist or offensive, we've decided to use animated characters to portray people.

Problem is, I'm drawing a complete blank on character design at the moment.
The rest of the group thinks we could get away with using stick figures, I think that will look amateurish and be generally ineffective.

What I need is something generically human shaped. I was thinking of making it relatively featureless and using a non-human colour pallette (blue or green or something). But my mind is blank.

Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Rather than stick figures or cartoonish shapes why not use paper cut-out figures (easy to create too) as in this graphic
