I have a real problem with symmetry in Photoshop...

I just can't seem to ever create symmetrical shapes/images.

For example, I'm using the pen tool to create a vector of a rocket, but it always comes out looking lopsided. Any tips/advice?

use carefully placed guides.
To figure it out, it helps to draw the rocket on paper. then take a ruler and draw a rectangle that touches the top most point, the bottom most point, and both the side points of the body of the rocket.

Realistically everything on the computer is math based and conforms to a square so thinking like that when your draw really helps.

Could you not draw half of it, then copy, paste and flip it so then it matches up and then, using the pen tool, just 'bend' bits of it to match? Thats what Id do, cos Im lazy lol

You could do that but you'd still have to find a perfect centre to work from. If you take a few extra minutes ahead of the project it just makes life simpler.
