Illustrator Tutorials

Anyone know some decent Illustrator tutorials to teach me the basics? I googled but the tutorials I found were telling you how to make thing, I would like to get a proper understanding of the tools and things. Never really got the hang of Illustrator.

I found a nice set of tutorials here. I haven't looked through them all so I don't know if there are any good beginner ones, but there are a lot to choose from!
