The new Sevice Pack 2 is finally here!

The Service Pack 2 (SP2) has finally been released by microsoft. This Service Pack is by far much more better and secure than the earlier service packs. It has a better security against hackers, viruses and worms. Things we all hate! Other than that it has a built in pop-up blocker. These are just a few of the secutirty updates SP2 has to offer.

If you want to update your Windows XP to SP2, you'll be a lot more safer. But an issue like all other newly released programs, SP2 may still have different bugs. But in the long run the decision is yours. Do you want to upgrade to SP2 or not? If yes, do you want to upgrade to SP2 now or when the bugs are removed?

It would be nice if Windows XP SP2 users could give comments on how they think SP2 is. Is it worth downloading? What is good with it, and what is not?

Microsoft has always been trying to make computing more easy and reliable for us. Well, now for users with poor internet connections who cannot download 300 Mb of programs or users who who simply don't have the time to do it, microsoft sends you a CD with the SP2 upgrade for free. The only thing you have to do is to click ---->here <----- and write down some personal information (like your adress and e-mail etc...).

Note:- For now SP2 on CDs from microsoft is only available in English and German. A list of other release dates are there on the link.

I've downloaded the SP2 like 2 times so there goes my adsl download limit for this month the problem is when i want to install it it does do it... the when it's finisht i go and have a look which version i have... by going to Start->run then i type winver... and gues which version i have...?

SP1 ofcource..

Does anyone else have the same problem or is it just me..?

I'm not really sure what the problem is, but I'd advice you to order the SP2 CD from the link i gave in my third post in this thread. Its free too, both the CD and the shipping. Then you wont have to download SP2 . Give it a go.

Christoffer Frisell, the marketing chief from microsoft, has announced that the Swedish version of SP2 has been translated. It will be released on the 14th of September no doubt now. SP2 (swe version) can also, like the english verion, be ordered from microsoft's web site for free.

Note :- For ordering the SP2 CD (any language), go to the link provided by me in the third post in this thread. First check if it the language you want is available. If not, wait for its release date. If it is then download/order it.

Some more news about SP2 :

No more waiting. The swedish SP2 is here. Its just to download it !

But keep in mind before installing SP2 that many programs are not supported by SP2 and will not run on it.
