How do i do this or get this effect?

The Way She Looks like the black on her clothes looks darker..her hair looks glossy and her skin looks bright and nice...DOes having a High quality picture have to do anything with it? or you could do that with a loq quality too?
Can sumone please help me give me some advice or a link to a tutorial?







And Also on Christina Aguilera how do u make her skin look like that and match with the clors in the Picture...its been two years that i tried to figure it out and i cant everyone tells me...to try levels and all that stuff but i could never get it...please give me sum advice or a link thanks.

I would think you could create similar effects using color overlays, mixed in with different blend modes.

High Quallity is very helpful. Low quality images will often come out grainy and look really badly despite what you do to it.

I don't see the Christina pic so I don't know what to say about that.

This picture of avril is essentially a poorly done cut out of her likely using the Pen Tool. There are many tutorials on using the pen tool, found online.

Then There is likely a brush applied in the background with yet another pic of her behind that and faded out.

There are black > Transparent gradients on top of her giving that fading effect at the waist, and then test over layed on top, with some sort of lighting effect on the left side of her head.
