sound linking

Postby jason007thomas on Mon Jan 12, 2009 10:49 pm

I know this has nothing to do with Photoshop but my question is;
Instead of using a flash player to demonstrate a play-list from a CD on my web page, couldn't I just hyper link a title of a song on the page so when the visitor clicks it or does a mouse over on the title, the song simply plays?

thats something you would have to do with some sort of javascript... I have no idea how to do it, but that would be my best guess.

You might want to check out one of these links

http://jdstiles.com/java/rocips/rocips.html

Otherwise do a google search for "javascript mouseover play sound" and you should get a ton of results. Best of luck!

You're welcome. Just curious, did you find something that worked?

I don't have flash on this computer right now but from what little actionscript I knew before I would say you're dealing with mouseover functions. You may be able to do it with some simple html too.

Thanks bro
I tried it in dreamweaver and basicly did an image map over all the titles and it worked, but the only draw back to it is that when you click the title it makes you save the file or just open it and then it opens up the default player.

Thats cool but I want it to be faster and more user friendly but I geuss beggers cant be choosy.......

I thind you need to keep the music in the same place with your ppt, or embed your music in ppt, not just link it. then you can send it to others by email without losing the sound. the step is as following: (for the details, you can go to
