I think you need to do some photoshop training, if we just talk about the design, HTML is very simple, just make a table and insert images and backgrounds into it. Look around and find some sites that you like, mix them together in your own way. Thats how I get inspired :D

Question for you silentb: What would exactly be the reason for me to use divs instead of tables?
I just want to know, maybe it could help me improve the coding of the site...

I can answer that :)
A tables "should" only be used for listing data. If you change your table design to a CSS design your code will be faster to load (it caches the table layout and just load it once). It also helps you with SEO (search engine optimization) when it separates the "code" from the text. DEVPPL is coded in HTML but I will remake the site in XHTML and CSS to make it faster. I think it will improve the speed of the forum very much.

So I should use div's instead of tables, because I can run those through CSS, but giving it exactly the same layout it has now? (Sorry for asking, I just never got to use div's, just don't like them ;) ).

I think CSS is better in all ways, and you are able to to all layouts with css that you are able to do with tables.

I'm using CSS already, just haven't added all err... things... into the style sheet yet. I mean width and height of the tables etcetera. I still have to work a bit more on that.

Guys, I have some spare time at this moment, does anyone have some suggestions on the design of the website, so I can possibly improve that? That way it would be more appealing to others as well.

Yes you can. I don't know how to make pages with a div/css yet, but Im working on it and probably I will remake devppl to a div/css layout soon. (its table layout now)

Actually it should be pretty simple. Instead of using a table, you just use a div. You can kind of tell your page to get any information from the stylesheet. In the CSS file you can write down what the div needs to have, borders, font styles, colors, backgroundcolors etc. So, it is sort of the same principle, but you use a great amount of coding LESS! :)
