Removing color

Postby iag25 on Tue Mar 03, 2009 3:04 pm

I have a shape with a color in it and can change the color of it with the paint bucket. The problem is I want to clear the color in that area so that I only see the pallete. Is this possible ?

hi,
first always good to provide a image to look at.. there are many ways to replace a color and it depends on the image which one is best....

now i am just a novice so not quite sure what you mean in last sentence by clear the color to see the pallette...

however... like i mentioned there many way besides the paint bucket to replace color....
now this is one of my favorite video tutorial on color... it show you several ways ..
http://revision3.com/pixelperfect/colorize/ i think maybe one of those will work fine

A picture would be nice so that we can see what we're working with, but if it's just one plain color, the easiest way would be to use the "Select by color" tool, click anywhere on the color you want to remove, and just hit delete.
With this method, most of the time you'll be left with a few dots here and there, just use the eraser tool to tidy it up a bit.

Hi, iag25,

You can also continue to use the Paint Bucket tool, just change it's mode (in the options bar) from 'Normal' to "Clear".
