Postby stapler on Thu Mar 19, 2009 11:56 pm

I just got photoshop today, I need to make a poster for a promotional event, i was wanting to create a yacht in water with a downtown background, how to bring in and adjust pictures like this so it looks like i did no cutting or pasting:?

i have all the pictures, i dont want to just cut and paste this, but make it looks like it is done professioanly and everything coordinates with one another

The best way to go about this is to post the pictures.

What you're asking is kind of like asking an auto mechanic how to change a transmission. There are so many variables involved that it would be hard to give a specific answer. You may need to adjust the size of the images. The best way to separate the objects from the background will vary depending on the image itself: colors, brightness levels, etc. The coloration and brightness of the individual objects may need to be changed so that they all merge well in the final image. The images themselves may even be using different color spaces.

To walk you through that, and give you an "eye" for how best to go about things would take months. You sound like someone who would rather learn the techniques than have someone do the work for you (and that's a good thing), but in your case the best way to go about it would be to post the pics and have one of us walk you through the problems specific to this project. That way you can start to learn the techniques for yourself.

To post the images, you will need to upload them to a host site such as ImageShack.
