Isolating layers

Postby stick900 on Wed Mar 25, 2009 1:09 pm

Does anyone know if their is an isolation function/button in photoshop? When I say isolation I mean by turning off all other layers except the one you are working on? Like 3ds max has when hiding all other objects except the one you want to manipulate. It really helps when your scene gets busy & complicated.

I'm aware I could just create folders & turn those off but thats not conveneient for me. Any help/knowledge would be greatly apprechiated Thanks!

Thanks very much for your retort but thats not what I had in mind. I know about the eye symbol but I'm looking for something that hides the layers all at once to save confusion & aiding me in easy work flow. But thx anyways.

Hold the Alt (Win) / Option (Mac) key while you click on the eye of the layer you want to keep open. That should turn off all the other layers.
