hi,
if this is a image you have and scanned... i suggest rescanning to boost the resolution... and use something like at least 200 or 300 ppi/dpi , that will give you a a bigger pixal resolution size, your current image you posted is appx 420x620 ..
this chart give you an idea of recommend resolution and printing size
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docu ... ct=3403453 note: don't resave your file in jpg..... keep in png or psd or tiff... saving in jpg will only degrade qualilty ...
note:there are a couple of products on the market, but a little expensive that can greatly enlarge a image with very good results..... genuine fracals or blowup... heard good reviews...
now if ithis image file the only thing you have....
there 2 meathods i am aware of to greatly enlarge a image... using photoshop..
1. a common meathod is called 10% stair stepping...
bascically you enlarge a image in increments of 10% untill you get to the resolution size you want..... that can be a lot of steps and time consumming..... the other meathod gives good results but takes a lot less time...
2. another upsampling meathod which i use sometimes
and it does a fairly good job.... of greatly enlarging....
a. go to image size
b. uncheck resample
c. put in 300 (for hpcannon or 360 for epson) or check your printer manual)
d. now checkmark resample ....
e. pick bicubic sharpener... but you may want to experiemtn with the other choices...
e. in the document area... put in the hieghts and width adjustments you want... this will automatically add and change your pixal dimisions...
and that it...

I want to put this picture on a 20x30 paper. The thing is that, i tried many ways of preserving the quality of this picture while resizing it to a bigger picture. It seem like that everything i tried, it still looks the same. Can someone please help me out? it doesn't have to be a perfect but try to preserve as much of the picture quality as possible.
