Forum Spammed

It seems the seems the site is getting attacked by spammers they are posting porn and game links these are all more than likly viruses or spyware this is happening to 4 other websites im a member on it seems to be the art and devolper websites that are getting attacked. i have PMed webmaster but hes offline and no other mods are on

so i advise you all to not open any links unless its posted by a long time member

I am sure the staff will fix this as soon as possable.

I hope the webmaster does keep on top of this.... i have seen the team photoshop website just get hammered with spam ad's posts.. worse case there was cfor ouple of weeks of about 10-15 pages of solid ad posts.... and there forum was usable...

well jerry i know the webmaster can`t be here all the time but there is no staff whatsoever and these posts have been viewed by how many kids who knows the site has less and less visitors everyday without this problem to i hope he fixes it soon , some the other sites i use are getting hammerd atm but the staff are keeping on top of it these idiots doing it want to get a life and leave these forums alone

It has been taken care of. We get lots of these every week, but most of the time, I've been able to delete them before they've got any views. This is a problem for all forums. Spam bots can always be banned, but this was manual spammers, and there's no way of preventing that.

More mods will be added soon, I'm currently spending all my spare time with lots of updates to the forum, when that's done, more mods will be added.

Thanks Webmaster we where not blaming you i know you are busy and you cant do everything on your own im glad you are on top of it all forums get these spam attacks we know this and you are usually on top of it.

alot of art and developers forums are under attack more than usual at the min a couple that i have seen have been hit that bad the mods cant keep on top of it and the forums have had to be closed for not to fix it , i think they are traveling around the artforums and the image host sites because they are all linked together through the image host sites.

i wish there was some way these spamers could be tracked... but from what i see a lot of them use meathods that prevetns that... although the company they work for bears responisiblity on this too..

Thanks Brian for bringing that problem to the attention of the Webmaster, personally I hated it but didn't know what to do about it. And of course, thanks to the Webmaster for taking care of it! I know spamming is an ongoing problem, and probably impossible to stop completely, but any effort to minimize it is very much appreciated by those of us who use this forum for legitimate reasons.

We're not getting as much spam as we used to, we are banning all spammer IPs, so we're getting less and less
