Can 'Photoshop' Bypass Vista 'My Pictures'?

Postby sarasara on Sat Apr 11, 2009 6:14 pm

When my PC was set up the engineer seemed to have confused the 'My Photos' files so that when I save pictures most seem to dissapear or are saved as blank sheets.

What I would like to know is can 'Photoshop' search, view and save images from Yahoo images etc? And can I retrieve the images from photshop if I am posting an image on a forum?

If so I could buy the software and use it to bypass Vista. The protocols for fixing the problem are just too complicated for me to understand.

Grateful for assistance,
sara. :)

well im not to sure what your asking but im thinking you want to use photoshop as a image libery to bypass your photos folder

Well if so the answer is not really but you can use photoshop to open any image from any scorce and then save it in any format in any folder but it is a very expensive programme just to do that photoshop is a image editing manipulation/creating. pogramme it is used for art and design or to fix edit or mess with photos. it sounds like you are after a simple image gallery programme ????

Thanks Raven,
Actually i do want to get photoshop anyway but I am focussing on this issue first. Supposing I have photoshop can I go to google images or any other site and copy an image directly into photoshop? i.e. does photoshop have a search engine for images? Can I make Photoshop my default image library? Lastly you said:

Is there such a thing?
Thanks,
sara.

Thanks Brian.

You did mention one but not it's name.

The problem I am finiding is that the software I have downloaded has to be bought before you can actually try it out. I downloaded 'PictureImp' and 'PictureAce'. I could not find enough info on either to prove that it would do the job before I paid out the cash.

What I need is a definate ok from someone who has a program they have tried and proven which can bypass 'My Pictures' and scan Google images and copy them.
Thanks,
sara. :)

I don't understand your problem. If the "My Pictures" folder is faulty, does it work if you save images somewhere else in another folder? If that is an issue than no program is going to help you because all the program will do is save the images together in a file and spit them out when you need them. No different from searching through images in a folder yourself.

If it is only your My Pictures folder that is faulty save your images to another folder and call it images.

D. Flynn, I don't understand it either and I deleted shortcuts and files and so made the problem worse while trying to create another folder. Forget it! I had a long session with Vista support which solved nothing and am not continuing down that path.

As I said the problem I am now finiding is that the software I have downloaded in the hope that it can bypass 'my pictures' and copy images from Google images has to be bought before you can actually try it out! I downloaded 'PictureImp' and 'PictureAce'. I could not find enough info on either to prove that it would do the job before I paid out the cash.

What I need is a definate ok from someone who has a program they have tried and proven which can bypass 'My Pictures' and scan Google images and copy them. I would have thought Photoshop would have done that task as standard, so I will need a different program.

Thanks,
sara. :)

Sara My pictures is just a folder you dont ever have to use it if they save ok in to other files you dont need to use my pictures, if they dont save correctly on your computer atall then no programme will help you as all programmes run in the paraimiters of the operating system and all use folders to save images even programmes that open up as a libery of image use folders to save the images
i think you bet option is to back everything on your computer up on dvds and then format you computer and reinstall windows

I really dont think you will find a programme for what you need like i say My Pictures is just a folder and only you can download images from any website and it up to you what progamme opens them and what folder there saved in.
