copy all layers into another document ?

Postby aneuryzma on Sat May 09, 2009 2:18 pm

Hello,

how can I copy the content of all layers of my image or some of them in order to past it onto another document ?

I've tried to select few or all of them, but only the first one was copied.

I had to merge them in order to have full copy.

thanks

Not sure if you're wanting to copy all the layers or just the 'contents' of all the layers. You can merge the 'contents' of all your visible layers into one layer, and still keep all the individual layers. Then you could copy and paste that one merged layer.

Try this: Highlight (select) your top most visible layer. Now, while holding the Alt (option on a Mac) key down, choose 'Merge Visible' from the Layer menu. You should get a new merged layer at the top and still have all the other layers untouched.

Hope this is helpful.

Or..
Do:
ctrl+A (select all)
Ctrl+Shift+C (copy merged)
Ctrl+N (New Document)
Enter
Ctrl+V
This way you'll get a brand new document with the merged contents...

It is just another way of doing the same thing...
