Photo retouching using photoshop

Postby hdawg12 on Sat Apr 25, 2009 6:20 pm

I plan on re-touching some photo's from a friend. Her mother took some pictures of her graduating high school. She would like me to do some retouching. I don't know exactly how many she took, but it is more than 10.
My question is the following. How much should I charge her. I was going to do it for free, but her mother INSISTED that I charge for my services.

How much would photo retouching cost.

Depends on how good you are, how bad the photos are, and how much time / effort it will take to do it, and what you feel is reasonable.
Theres no set cost, nor can anyone suggest a price because nobody knows the information listed above.

I agreed with flynn. It all depends how hard you edit the photos. The time you spend in retouching it. For me, I would charge a friend or relative about $ 15 to $20 per hour.I don't consider yet myself a master photoshop but I'm pretty good with it. It depends on your skill. The price is only a suggestion.

I'm no master in photoshop, but I'm good at it. I can get around and make some good touch ups. If I were to rate myself between a 1-10. I would probably give myself a 6.5-7. I still got a lot to learn, but I think I can do a decent to good job with photoshop. I spent about 1 hour yesterday on one photo. They're kinda low on cash , if you know what I mean. Her mom told me the reason she didn't get a real photographer to do the work was because she couldn't afford it. Apparently they are expensive. So my friend(who's studying photography) decided to take the pictures. He's no professional photographer, but he's in school learning. He wanted me to do some reatouching. The photos aren't bad, I think my friend did a good job taking it. I just got the photos and they are actually 7. I understand where her mom is coming from, especially with today's economy so I'll have to think about how much I should charge her. Maybe $20 for the whole thing. I mean, it's no big deal for me. I have a job and do this on the side. I probably spend 1 hour a day(or more if I feel up to it) retouching the photos.

Does anyone know how much professional photographers charge for graduations(high school, college), Prom pics??

thanks

It all depends on how much time you take to retouch the photos and the effort it will take to do it. And also depends on the complexity of the image. if you would like to outsource to us then we can do within one day and we offer quality cost-effective service.
