Save for Web & Devices...

I have photoshop cs4 and I've just sliced up an image. I now want to optimize it for the web, but I'm not able to select the "Save for Web and Devices" option. Is there any way I can make it accessible or get around this problem?

make sure it is 8 bit RGB (image > MODE > ) then it should let you save for web
