New to PS: where do I start?

I just got PS the other day, and I wonder where to start... I've read some very basic guides, but does anyone know of some really good and handy tutorials etc that would be good to start off with? Any good tips for what a beginner should do? I downloaded the "PS for dummies" book, but I don't really like those books...

Thanks for the reply. I already knew most of what that tutorial had to offer tho' =) I'll google around for some more advanced layer tutorials and techniques.
Know of any good gradient tutorials? I can't get the hang of it (not well atleast)
