How do I edit a text image

Postby golucky on Sun Jun 28, 2009 11:40 am

Im completely new to photoshop.

I have a website template with a jpg image that says "lorem ipsum"

I want to change this image to "welcome"

I have the image in both a jpg and the entire page saved in photoshop (psd).

When I go into photoshop, I can change the image text to welcome and save it, but how do I cut it and turn it into a jpg thats the same size as the one I want to replace?

Thanks,

John

I may slightly confused as to what the situation is exactly so if what I tell you doesn't work please re explain the problem.

As I understand it you are changing the text in the Website PSD when what you should be doing is changing the text in the image JPG.

Open the image JPG and change the text in there. Once complete simply resave the image and replace the original. The easiest way to save a JPG image is through the file menu - file > "save as" - (Ctrl + Shift + S shortcut).

Once you replace the original image it should look fine...
