how to make grungy background for website?

Postby peop on Thu Jul 16, 2009 9:30 pm

I'm wondering how to make a grungy-like background. I see this in many webdesigns.

Some examples of what I mean:

http://curtisman.deviantart.com/art/Res ... -124041918 (the brown part)
http://www.templatemonster.com/website- ... 24266.html (also the brown part)

I guess they use a grunge brush for it?

Thanks in advance!

thanks for your reply.

I've found numerous tutorials about how to create a grunge background but none of them comes close to http://www.templatemonster.com/website- ... 24266.html ,neither does yours..

Anyone a better one?

Your best bet is to take a look at this site:
http://www.cgtextures.com

and basically find a concrete texture to overlay on your website. That is basically how these effects were made.

It sounds simple and that's because it is. Just put the texture in a new layer and set its blend mode to Overlay

Good Luck
