Photoshop CS4 Installation Question.. Please help!

Postby captainmarvel on Fri Sep 11, 2009 6:30 am

Hi there, I recently got ADOBE Creative Suite 4 web premium for my computer.

However when I tried to install it, it told me that I didn't have enough RAM.

My computer is currently running on 512 MB RAM so I have to upgrade it to a 1 gig RAM.

I don't mind doing it, but as my computer is quite old, I have to get DDR1 RAM, which is quite expensive.

Like I said, I wouldn't mind doing so if I knew the answer to this question for sure:

Does Photoshop CS4 run on Windows Service Pack 2? Because that is what my computer has. I know that it says under System Requirements that it does, however when I tried to install it the first time, they listed two things that was wrong with my computer.

1) Not enough RAM
2) I don't have Windows Service Pack 3

The first one is okay, as it is true. However, the 2nd one is quite confusing. As the System Requirements says that it runs on Service Pack 2 although Service Pack 3 is recommended.

So that's my question for you guys.. Does it run on service pack 2? I don't want to spend a hundred dollars on RAM before being told that I have to go and get Service Pack 3 in order for it to run!

Please help me! Thank you!!!

Oh yeah,
i should have specified more...the price for DDR is more expensive than DDR2 but not WAY more. 2GB for less than $60.00 with the link i sent you.
Service pack 3 is nt something you need to 'go and get' Just go to windows update and it should be there, frankly I am surprised you don't have automatic updates enabled in windows because then you would have already downloaded and installed sp3.
You probably need to remove the existing 512(assuming you only have 2 slots total and will just replace with the new 2 x1GB sticks you purchase.

Problem solved for less than $60.00!
