I am not sure i understand your question. Are you wondering simply if you can use javascript to query a DB or do you want to design a site using js? do you have the code you are trying to use already written.

I think your answer is more complicated than a simple yes or no. There are a lot of variables to consider Delhiris. I am not a js expert or anything but i have a bit of experience. Hopefully someone will have a better answer once you provide more info about your needs.
