What technique(s) or plugin(s) are used in this image?

Hello everyone!

I'm new around here and I'd like to ask you a question. A friend of mind took some photos at a studio and I like the way the photographer retouched her photos so I'd like to know the techniques/plug-ins he used if it's possible. Below are the original & retouched photos.



I'd like to know what the photographer did to get the darker, shinier hair & the glowing, smoother face. I tried the trial version of Imagenomic Portraiture since a friend pointed it out. I managed to get the skin close to the one above but I just couldn't get the same hair. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

looks to me as though >Image>Adjustments>Photo Filter was used, along with a bit of >Brightness/Contrast in precisely selected areas, who ever did it, did a fine job( very difficult to see any selected edited areas)
could be other filters also(in same location.)>Image> ????

now on that bottom picture.... i got something close to it by masking off ceretain areas
and then did a slight curve adjustment ... and i followed up with using
smart blur in my cs1

Hey thanks iDad and jerryb! Your suggestions really helped. I did what you suggested and I was able to come close to the retouched photo but I'm still inexperienced with adjusting contrast & brightness so gotta get more practice. Anyway, thanks a lot for your help. It's really appreciated.

your quite welcome ..
you'll find most of the time it is a matter of practice and experimentation to get the results you want....

and as you get more expereience... you may even take note... your monitor settings...!!!
for example my monitor tends to be on the dark side a little bit... which causes me to compensate.. one of these day when i get motivated i need to calibrate.. lol
