Change a patterned shirt to a solid color shirt

Hi,

Does anyone know how to change a patterned shirt to a solid color shirt? I'm thinking of purchasing istockphoto.com image #10293853 if it's possible to change the shirt to a solid color, such as white or blue. I've seen plenty of tutorials online just for changing a shirt color, but those don't really apply since I'm trying to remove a pattern. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

it would be easier just to put a different shirt on him, you going to lose the texture by changing the pattern(possible but tricky)

What photoshop method do you suggest for putting a different shirt on him? It doesn't matter what the method is, new shirt, removing the pattern, I just need it to be a solid color. Specific instructions on a method would be appreciated!

if you need to ask then I suggest watching a few tutorials and see how it's done ,,do a search for recoloring
