Hi goldenbee,

Well, there's probably several ways to go about doing something like that. One thing for sure is that you'll want to experiment with the layer blending modes; the Normal mode would probably tend to block the textures, highlight, etc.

I started by adding a new layer (use the soft light or overlay blending mode) above the main image layer and filling it with dark brown. I then carefully selected the legs (saving the selection in case I needed it later). With the brown layer active and the legs still selected, I added a layer mask by clicking the "Add layer mask" button at the bottom of the Layer's palette. That, of course, applied the brown color to just the legs and allowed the rest of the image to show through.

The resulting "stocking" color was pretty close but still a little light. So, I added a Curves adjustment layer (using the saved selection to create the mask) on top of the brown layer to darken the legs even more. Since you'll be using the full sized image, your results should be better than mine, but I hope this is helpful by giving you the general idea anyway.

I brought it a step further and did her upper, also the dark spot on the back of her butt. ;) it was probably the belt but at that resolution,I couldn't tell.

Very nice work iDad, I like the way you did the top part; I too thought her complexion was a little light, especially after adding the stockings :-) That may be partly due to the lighting as well?
