Accidentally overwritten a pic using photoshop cs4

Accidentally overwritten a pic using photoshop cs4

Postby Pazma on Tue Nov 03, 2009 9:30 pm

Hi, I was messing about with a pic of me using CS4 and when saving I forgot to click on Save as copy so the original is now gone, replaced by the altered file. Is there any way I can recover the original file? Is there a temporary folder or something that it might be in?

Thanks in advance for any help.

hi,
first, al ittle late I know.. it is always a good idea to make a duplicate layer of the orginal.....

be that said... the bad news is it probably gone.....

but there is a little bit of hope... not much but some....
when files are deleted they can be recovered.... if it hasn't been too long...

now not sure how ps does things when overwriting.. .. like does it save the file first and then delete the old... basicaly that how your hard drive manages things....

if it does then there a possiblity it maybe recoverable....... this free unerase program may help....... it worth a try... but don't have high hopes..
